0339 How to e-mail a Point file or form from Point

Using Microsoft Outlook makes it easy to e-mail a file or form from Point. You can send the file or e-mail directly from Point. If you do not use Microsoft Outlook to send/receive e-mail, see article 0101 E-mailing files or forms outside of Point

How to E-mail a Point file with Microsoft Outlook

  1. Open the Point file.
  2. From the menu bar, select File > E-mail > Point Data File.


  3. From the E-mail Point Data File window, enter a password. (This is the password that must be used to open the attachment)
  4. Click Send To. A new Outlook mail message will open with the file automatically attached.

How to e-mail a form with Microsoft Outlook

  1. Open Point.
  2. Open a Prospect or Borrower file.
  3. From the Menu bar, select File > E-mail > Forms.



  4. In the Borrower Forms window, select the forms you want to send.
  5. Verify the Output Option dropdown list is set to E-mail as pdf file.
  6. Click Send.



  7. In the Set PDF Password window, click Protect with Password.
  8. In the Password field, enter the password and click OK.

    Note: Point is designed to work with Outlook or Outlook Express. Any other E-mail clients may not function as expected.
  9. A blank e-mail opens with the PDF files attached (Point splits the PDF files into 3 different files: letter, legal, and other).
  10. Complete the To and Subject fields in the e-mail.
  11. Click Send.

Recipients must have Adobe Reader installed to view the forms.
