0279 Point 7.3 and higher is incompatible with Point 7.2

Because of added fields in the new versions of Point, sharing loan files between Point 7.3 and above with older Point versions will cause calculated fields to appear differently in the Fees Worksheet. This means if someone in your office begins a loan file in 7.2 (or older) and someone else who has already updated to 7.3 or higher opens the file, the calculations in several screens will not match.

  • Several of the these fields come from the Compensation From Rebate section on the Fees Worksheet and a new fee split calculator vs the former Paid-By dropdown field, as well as new fee lines in the new version. If you make changes to these fields for the same loan file in 7.3 and above vs 7.2, the Cash to Close will differ.

  • New calculations have been added in the Track Loan Profit/Loss screen which cannot be seen in earlier versions—the Net Profit calculation will therefore not be the same.

  • The Track > Conditions screen has been upgraded to synchronize with conditions on the Banker > Conditions screen. Upon first use of a loan file in 7.3 or above, the conditions will automatically transfer. However, conditions added in older versions will not automatically transfer and synchronize if another user opens and saves the file in the new version of Point.

  • Hidden field calculations of the previously removed MLDS Traditional Form 883 will change the calculations in some fields if a 7.3 or above user uses new screens and then shares the file with a 7.2 user who then enters fees in the Fees Worksheet and changes the Paid by field. Point will clear the original fields for the 7.3 or above since it was last saved in Point 7.2 where the fields did not yet exist. The affected fields are:

    • Loan Profit/Loss > Other Splits and Deductions section.
    • Banker Warehouse & Purchase Advice > Advance Rate Calculation section
    • HUD-1 Page 2 (2 fields) and HUD-1 Page 3 (3 fields).
